I made this pin out of sticky-backed closed cell foam and attached a pin with a locking closure to the back with a hot glue gun. Go crafting. But, the real point of this post is that you should remember to go vote today!
I don’t care who you vote for. There are more names on the ballot than just the ones competing for president. Vote for your senator, representative, and don’t forget about state and local government. Plus the ballot questions are very important too.
We are so lucky to live in a country where we have these choices and the privilege and the responsibility to take part in our government. When you really stop and think about it, election day should be an exciting and important day even if it doesn’t fall in a presidential election year. I should always have to wait 30 minutes in line to vote and not be able to walk right into my polling place. Today I felt honored to stand in line with my fellow citizens. I have never been so excited to stand in a line my whole life as I was today. Regardless of the outcome of the election, America wins based on amazing voter turnout and citizen participation.
I know this deviates from the typical on my blog, and I promise that this will be the only political post for a very very long time. I will go back to posting knitting and sewing and all those awesome things. But for today: GO VOTE!!!!
