Kool-Aid + Yarn = Pretty

Each of these pieces of  wool yarn started out white.  I dyed them with Kool-Aid!  It was really simple – I found this great picture on Knitty that showed what type of Kool-Aid gave what color and away I went!  It was really simple, I just dissolved 2-3 packets of Kool-Aid (with no sugar!) in a minimal amount of water and added the yarn that I had tied in mini-hanks.  I zapped it in the microwave for about 2 minutes and let it cool back down to room temperature over about an hour or so.  Then a quick rinse and let it dry overnight and here it is!

I’m in love with this, especially since I only needed a tiny amount of each color for another secret project.  Damn these secret projects!  As Christmas keeps getting closer, I keep making more things for people who know about the blog!  I’ll have to find some other things to make soon. :)
