Skully Skull Hat

I was going to post about this yesterday, but I really wanted to get it finished first, so here it is today!  This is probably the most awesome hat I have ever made!  It is for my cousin’s son, who is maybe about 11?  This was my first time doing colorwork in knitting like this, and it wasn’t nearly as bad as I thought it would be!  Once I figured out how to hold each color in a separate hand and knit from both it made things go pretty quickly.  The pattern was super easy to follow, with a great chart! I took the suggestion of the pattern and went down a needle size to make it a bit smaller.  It worked out great!

Even though this isn’t for me, I couldn’t resist the urge to try it on.  Since I have a freakishly small head, it fit me perfectly.  I think after Christmas I’ll have to make one for myself!  Oh, and for those of you still keeping track, this makes 9 things I have made for Christmas!  Rock on!
