This weekend was quite productive in the kitchen. First, we made a really yummy butter-mushroom sauce to serve over some grilled steaks.
This was also made an appearance the next day, along with some leftover steak cubes in some omelets – so tasty!
And to round out the weekend we started a raspberry porter!
Look how dark that is!!! I’m not a huge fan of darker beers, but I’m hoping that the addition of the raspberry, one of my favorite flavors, will appease my taste buds a little bit. It was Tim’s turn to pick our beer recipe this time, so I get next pick. I’m tempted to go for a crazy-hopped IPA, but I may be nice and pick something we both like!
On a side note, you may have noticed things have slowed down a bit on the ole blog lately. It appears that I’ve gone and landed myself a real grown up job, and I have three months to finish up my PhD work. Needless to say, my life is going to be crazy for a little while! But don’t worry, I can’t stop crafting completely or else I’ll have some sort of breakdown, so I will have things to report every once in a while!
